100 years
The Sheikh Zayed limited edition timepiece – launched in the Year of Zayed – was created to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the birth of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the beloved father of the nation. Created by ChronoSeven, Simply Abu Dhabi and Arabic Calligraphy Artist Majid Alyousef.

The very smooth black or white leather straps are outfitted with a sweat-resistant inner lining of the type that is also used by the high-end shoe industry.
The limited black version with grey background and black upper dial comes on a black strap with red, green, white stitching – the colors of the United Arab Emirates, to symbolize Arabian unity.
The white version with grey background and white upper dial & golden printings comes on a white strap with golden stitching – inspired by the columns of the Grand Sheikh Zayed mosque.

„Zayed Al Khair“ / „Zayed the Benelovent“
The screw-down case back offers a visual treat nestled below a scratchproof sapphire crystal: a three-dimensional matte-and-polished falcon designed by Majid Alyousef to offer the calligraphic Arabic spelling of the words “Zayed Al Khair,” a loving representation meaning “Zayed the Benevolent.”

Positioning at „7“ / The seven emirates
Sheikh Zayed´s likeness is executed in solid three-dimensionally printed silver, hand-finished with three different galvanically applied colors by a master goldsmith. Its positioning at 7 o’clock represents the seven emirates of the UAE, of which Sheikh Zayed was the literal and spiritual father.
The frame ring contains three dates: 1918 (year of his birth); 1971 (year of the UAE’ founding); and 2004 (year of his death).

“Emirates” calligraphy by Majid Alyousef
A beautiful detail is the three-dimensional calligraphy which forms the word “Emirates” in Arabic. It was designed by Arabic calligraphy artist Majid Alyousef and produced in a high-tech manner, finally applied to the dial by hand. The finish is executed according to the chosen style: glossy steel finish for the black version and matt rose golden finish for the white version.
